Have a new playful pup?

Puppies are some of the absolute cutest creatures on Earth. But the messes they leave behind are non too cute. So if you’ve just gotten a puppy to add to your family, I’d suggest starting housebreaking (or in your case apartment breaking) ASAP!

But how do you start? Well the first thing that you must do is incorporate consistency into the dog’s life. If you feed and walk your puppy early one day, you should do so every day. By developing a daily routine, your puppy is beginning to expect things at a certain time of day.

Next, be sure to follow indoor rules. When you’re not with your puppy, put him or her in an enclosed area or crate, which will teach them how to be alone and become a way to avoid separation anxiety later.

You should also schedule potty breaks. The best times to ‘go’ are first thing in the morning, after each meal, waking up after a nap, and after long periods of play time. Dogs learn by repetition. That’s the key. ;)

These, and a list of other helpful hints will have that puppy housebroken in no time. :)

What’s  your favorite kind of dog?

I love all breeds but if I had to pick it would be a Labrador.

I like Labradors too! A friend of mine has a black Labrador/Pit Bull mix, and it’s HUGE! It’s already up to my knee and it’s only 4 months! I know it’s a puppy but it has soooooooooooo much energy! My fav breeds are Jack Russells and Pomeranians. :) Oh, and Akita’s.
