People have given mixed reviews on the “We Are the World” remake that aired during the opening ceremony of the Olympic games. Some love it, some hate it. Jay-Z spoke out against the song, saying that “it’s like Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, to me. I don’t ever want to see it touched”. I can understand that. Especially with all of the new additions to the song, including rap verses. The best thing about the entire process is the amount of money raised for the Haiti relief efforts.
What do you think? Did you like the remake, or did you think that they could have gone in a different direction?
An MJ tribute to end all tributes…

The 2010 Grammys was a spectacular even indeed. Even more spectacular, and close to my heart was the Michael Jackson tribute, done incredibly well by Usher, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson, and Celine Dion. Every award show that has aired since the King of Pop’s death seven months ago has paid tribute, but I believe this is one that he would have enjoyed the most.
Singing a great rendition of Jackson’s “Earth Song” accompanied by some of Jackson’s own lead vocals, the group of four superstars had the audience captivated. The great thing about this tribute is that it not only honored Michael, but it focused on one of his main focuses, saving the world. It was not just him, but all of us. Another feature was the 3D element of the tribute, which was to be a part of Jackson’s “This Is It” tour. A very moving piece indeed.
Michael Jackson has always been, and will always be one of my all-time favorite artists. What are some of your favorite MJ songs or moments?
